Therapeutic penetrating keratoplasty in keratomalacia.

Malnutrition is of special importance in infants and children in India, where secondary malnutrition due to dietetic and infective diarrhoea may lead to keratomalacia. Therapeutic keratoplasty was carried out in eight eyes in six cases of keratomalacia (Table). All the patients had a history ofdiarrhoea for 8 to I 5 days; they came from a poor socio-economic environment and were aged between 9 months and 42 years.
